I have made some changes to ensure I am keeping you and myself safe. Most of these are protocols, such as wearing personal protective equipment worn by me or staff, staggered start times (to ensure minimal congregation of staff) as well as even more rigorous cleaning and disinfecting schedules for work space(s). This information is updated weekly so is subject to change. I have created this list from data collected in an online survey, we encourage you to VIEW the current results.
I thank you for your cooperation so that I can provide you and Myself the safest environment possible!
WHAT I'M DOING
-I have cut down on the number of bookings I will take on in a day, week and month slightly. Initially, I have had 1-3 clients per day (makeup, hair and lashes).
-Multiple clients in a booking will require longer booking times to allow for cleaning between applications (ex: bridal parties).
-I will also be limiting weekend appointments.
-I will wash my hands upon arrival to your home/hotel room (or other location), before makeup/hair/lash service and in-between every service or client (on larger bookings) and sanitize my hands with hand sanitizer throughout the appointment and if we need to touch something at my station(s) (products etc).
-I will be wearing a Face Mask and Face Shield for the duration of your appointment.
-I will arrive with a carbon filtered Face Mask on and the Face Shield will be worn during services(s)
-As always, I follow strict protocols for cleaning tweezers, spatulas, makeup brushes and other equipment between each client, including full immersion in an industry-specific virucidal solution (lash services), for your safety and 70% Isopropyl Alcohol for makeup and hair services.
-I will be using approved cleaners and methods for cleaning tools and makeup once before and after your booking.
-I will also be minimizing my kits to minimize items needing to be sanitized.-
-A FaceTime/Skype/Zoom meeting will be scheduled with you (client) 1-3 days prior to booking to allow me to pack what is needed for the booking.
-The client will be required to present a mood board or inspiration images prior to virtual meeting via email.
-If you would like me to wear gloves, I will but please do keep in mind that obtaining gloves is difficult at the moment and with my vigorous hand-washing and hand sanitizing throughout the appointment (as mentioned above),I feel that it is sufficient but will wear gloves upon request (in advance).
-Myself and team members have completed Covid-19 Infection Prevention Certificates (Beauty Safe Level 1 & 2, Barbicide, and other infectious disease control certifications such as Milady and Sanitation Conversation-Makeup Artist Specific) ONLY the stylists who have completed Beauty Safe level 1 and Barbicide -Covid-19 will be allowed to work on behalf of JennyV Makeup.
I have NOT been overseas in the last 3 months (I haven't been anywhere, actually!)
Myself and anyone from the team that is experiencing a fever/raised temperature or any cold/flu like symptoms, will not be permitted to work. I will change your stylist and/or appointment will be rescheduled.
HERE’S WHAT I ASK OF YOU
-A friendly reminder that if you aren’t feeling well/have symptoms, if you have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, or recently returned from overseas in the last 30 days –please reschedule your appointment to a later date or after you have tested negative.
-I request that you wash your hands at the start of your appointment. Additionally, sanitizer will be available in my kit for your use. Please wash hands after our appointment also.
-A disposable Face Mask will be given to you to wear during treatments if you DO NOT have one (excluding makeup applications). Please wear it and dispose of it afterwards. Please keep in mind that PPE supplies are hard to get for a fair price so if you have your own please feel free to use it! A $5/ person surcharge will be added to each booking till further notice, please note that we I have not raised my rates.
-Please DO NOT bring/have anyone else to/at your appointment. I am very sorry – due to social distancing protocols set by Dr. Bonnie Henry, I absolutely cannot accommodate any additional guests in your space at this time, including children, partners and pets. If this is not possible for you, please let me know and I will do my best to come up with a solution!
All clients will be required to read and sign a DIGITAL Release of Liability form prior to each appointment. As well, I will be adding a virtual consultation with YOU (client) prior to each scheduled appointment to minimize the amount of products I will bring therefore limiting the amount of items needing sanitization.
During this time of Covid-19, I have re-opened my Lash services and Makeup & Hair styling opens June 8th, 2020. I will be closely monitoring the updates around the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak set by Health BC. Although for the time being our region is mildly affected, I want to act fast and ensure we’re taking all the precautionary
measures to avoid any risks.
I have always been sterile when working and at home with brush and makeup sanitation however, my industry is not regulated (and this may change soon). Please note that I am taking the nessesary steps to ensure my practices are safe and will abide to any regulations put in place moving forward.
I have also been updating my YouTube channel and have new tutorials uploaded. Also you can view on Instagram via IGTV is streaming. I am keeping busy during this time making jewelry which is my hobby and now a new business... don't worry though, makeup and lashes remain as my #1 passion!!! Check out my creations here!
